How to help customers picture their home without endless test pots.
Barker’s Painting Co came to Random Group with a practical question: how could AI help customers picture their freshly painted home and make choosing colours and getting a quote easier?
See the colour change. Compare the before and after.
Watch the Barker’s Painting Co visualiser in use. The selected scheme uses Dulux Pink Rose for the walls and Dulux Silver Twilight for the trim. The Before and After controls let customers compare the visualised result with their original photo.

Colour confidence. Without the endless back-and-forth.
For Harry Barker’s customers, choosing a paint colour could mean repeated trips to Bunnings, comparing colour cards and buying test pots, then waiting for the right light to judge the result. Harry wanted to make that conversation easier and offer new and returning customers a more personal experience.
01
Visualise the home.
A colour visualisation tool helps customers explore how their home could look with different paint colours, including choices from Dulux and Taubmans. Harry can use it with customers on site, with the option for customers to explore it themselves.
02
Connect the work.
The wider work brings together AI-assisted quoting tools, invoice generators and connected business tools in a shared platform. The aim is to make the journey from customer conversation to quote and administration easier to manage.
03
Keep customers informed.
Educational social content and brand activation support help Barker’s Painting Co explain the painting process, introduce the visualiser and stay connected with new and returning customers.
Colour previews are a visual guide. Screens, lighting, surfaces and paint finishes affect appearance; final colours should be checked with physical samples. Brand names identify colour choices, not a partnership or endorsement.
More time painting. A more personal service.
The visualiser gives customers a glimpse of the proposed result and gives Harry a clearer starting point for the quoting conversation.
The wider platform is designed to keep business tools connected and put Harry in control of his systems, so he can focus on painting and looking after customers in a competitive market.
This is what practical AI adoption looks like: start with a real customer frustration, build a useful tool around it, then connect the processes that support the service.
“Jordan is a customer of mine. We got talking one day because I wanted to offer a unique experience. Choosing colours was a long, frustrating process for my customers: trips to Bunnings, paint cards, test pot after test pot, and waiting for the right light.
“We built the colour visualisation tool to give customers a glimpse of the finished result and make quoting easier for me. I can use it with clients on site, or give them the option to explore it themselves.
“The turnaround was unbelievable, the advice incredible and the support second to none. Jordan has built systems for my business where I’m in control, and I’m learning so much along the way. I couldn’t recommend him highly enough, and I was surprised by how affordable he is.”
